Are you a woman working or interested in computer security? Sign up!
It’s time to kickoff the WICCA initiative with a casual get together, inviting the ladies of InfoSec and female security enthusiasts in The Netherlands to join us in Amsterdam. We will introduce ourselves and present on computer security-related topics, but most of all, make bad crypto jokes.
KPN will be hosting us at their office by Amsterdam Sloterdijk and is providing free (vegan) pizza. A big thank you to Jaya Baloo, who will try to attend the event!
The event is women-only and is meant to be a space where we can share, support, and learn with each other.
The Machine Learning Challenges Involved in Incident Detection by Valentine Mairet
Rule-based detection systems, statistical models, anomaly detection, or a combination of these methods are used across the vast majority of the industry to perform security incident detection. This presentation discusses the machine learning-related challenges involved in the development of detection solutions, from the missing ground truth to the high false positive rates that impact the performance of security monitoring systems.
Gathering Open Source Intelligence on the Dark Web by Andrea Stehrer
One of the cornerstones of cybercrime is the Dark Web. However, despite its increased anonymity, social network analysis can be used to gain valuable insights from publicly available information. An Apache misconfiguration is used as example of how such mistakes can be used to one’s advantage.
