Who are we?

WICCA is a dynamic community of women in cybersecurity founded late 2018 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with the mission to inspire and empower women in the field while sharing cybersecurity knowledge widely.

Our goal is to bring women security enthusiasts together to learn about everything from exploits, hacking, incident response, and forensics to the low-level tech, governance, policy, GRC—you name it! And of course, to make plenty of bad crypto jokes along the way. We’re here to build a strong community of badass women in the Netherlands and hopefully inspire future generations to grab a keyboard and get the hacking party started!

We meet regularly to talk about all things information security. We collaborate with individuals, companies, governments, and universities to offer a learning platform for women exploring a career in cybersecurity, as well as for experts looking to deepen their skills.

WICCA is an entirely volunteer-driven community and all our meetups are free.

Did you know…

We also organise a conference, WICCON, featuring an all-women speaker line-up designed to put women in the cybersecurity spotlight. Everyone is welcome to attend.

We prioritise women when hosting events because we want to highlight their technical achievements, but as we aim to spread knowledge far and wide, we also host many mixed events. The main idea is to create a space where everyone feels at ease and truly welcome. We built a strong circle of women, but we’re not an exclusive one. WICCA is, at its core, a group of badass security ladies where anyone is welcome to learn from and with us!

Meet the Team

It all began with an idea, a wish to connect with likeminded people. Meet the women who lead and organise WICCA events.

Our Philosophy

In our group, we focus on the positive impact of the many initiatives working to increase diversity in cybersecurity and the broader tech world. We highlight good work, solid research, and strong efforts that help our community grow and thrive. We don’t let negativity or endless debates drain our energy, we’d rather spend that time building things, learning, and lifting each other up. We goof together, we laugh together, and yes—we hack together!

“You might not be able to change the world, but you can change a small part of it.”
